Wollongong’s CMG Audio Visual has invested in an MA Lighting International dot2 console and eight Clay Paky Mythos.

“The dot2 provides us with a cost-effective alternative to a full size lighting console with all the power of the MA family behind it,” remarked Tobi Pinazza, CMG AV’s general manager and technical director. “It’s simple enough for less experienced users to get good shows out of it whilst still providing enough of the MA features for more experienced users.

“I particularly like that you can get a really great lighting state from the dot2 with minimal set up time. It does a lot of the layout for you by default. I like that you can still get the full scope of the lighting fixtures’ potential out of it even though at first glance, it seems to be a simpler interface.”

Also purchased eight Clay Paky Mythos versatility of them makes a powerful addition to our inventory as they supplement what we have as either a wash light, bean light or profile light.

Tobi is happy to go on record as saying that he loves everything about the Mythos.

“It’s a fantastic light and in my opinion, is the pinnacle of the offerings on today’s market,” he said. “I love the speed and extent of the zoom. The gobos are gorgeous and the animation wheel is very effective. Our Mythos have enabled us to take on bigger shows and deliver much more punch, particularly on outdoor events. They allow a really versatile result whether it’s rock’n’roll, a dance party or soft gentle looks for corporate theming and room effects.”
