The crew at ei Productions happily admits they are long-term Martin lighting fans. Over the years (actually decades), they’ve had pretty much all of the Martin products from Roboscan 805 and RoboColour One through to the new, incredible Martin MAC One.
“Having seen them at a Show Technology launch event, they’ve been on our “to-buy” radar for a while,” commented Neale Mace, ei Productions’ Managing Director. “Once they started appearing on local and international tech riders, it seemed the right time to open the chequebook.”
Bearing in mind that there’s safety in numbers, Neale erred on the cautious side and purchased 64 Martin MAC Ones, stating that they swiftly looked like being a great investment.
“If ever there was a lighting product that punched above its weight (literally), it’s the MAC One,” he added. “It’s a tiny ultra-lightweight LED wash that has more output and features than it seems possible from such a fixture.”
The Martin MAC One is a revolutionary Beam, Wash and Eye-Candy fixture, featuring a captivating Fresnel lens that transforms any stage or event into an extraordinary visual spectacle. It excels in three powerful feature areas. First, its narrow, high-intensity beam delivers the same punch as larger, heavier fixtures, enabling robust, vibrant aerial effects. Next, its stunning Fresnel lens creates a soft wash with a wide 4-27° zoom range, delivering seamless transitions and engaging visual effects. Rounding out the robust feature set is an innovative backlight system with 24 RGB-effect LEDs within the lens to deliver memorable, show-stopping visual experiences.
“Martin has done a great job on the design and feature set of this light,” said Neale. “Having used them a bit here at ei Productions, they seem at home on anything from a small, intimate floor package to holding their own on a huge outdoor stage. The small size and light weight make them easy to rig in any situation.”
ei Productions’ MAC Ones were recently out in force for Ocean Alley’s massive show at The Domain, Sydney. Lighting Designer Jake ‘Dutchy’ Bylsma placed them on a truss, which they called the arch, and on the mid-stage and rear truss to recreate a classic ACL look.
Neale concludes that the amazing MAC Ones are in high demand worldwide for lighting tech risers, and ei Productions have them booked out on multiple gigs.
