Located in Sydney’s Northern Suburbs, The Epping Club is an iconic event destination with meticulously designed function spaces that have just undergone a stunning multi-million-dollar renovation. The result is sophisticated new finishes, elegant designer lighting and state-of-the-art sound and visual technology.
As part of the refurbishment, the entire ceiling was removed along with the long-serving Martin RUSH lighting fixtures. All rigging elements were powder-coated to match the new ceiling, creating a seamless look.
You need to look closely at these photos to spot their new intelligent lighting fixtures—and that is exactly the point. No one wants large black light fittings to distract from a beautifully designed, pale-hued room. The 22 white ShowPRO R3 LED Wash fixtures were the perfect choice: compact and discreet, yet powerful in output.
“It’s a subtle yet powerful light that never feels intrusive, and it’s also quiet,” said Patrick Elias of TL Productions, who recommended and installed the fixtures. “The client is thrilled with how seamlessly the fixtures blend into the space. The system is fully programmed for zoning, so the large room can be divided into three separate spaces with partitions. It’s a busy venue and can host up to three or four events in a single night.”
Weddings are the Club’s largest market, making the ShowPRO R3 Wash’s RGB+Warm White LED engine a valuable feature.
“The light looks especially nice on people’s skin,” noted Patrick. “It doesn’t make them look orange or yellowy, which you don’t want for the all-important photographs. The rest of the colour palette is great, from saturated bold colours through to subtle pastels.”
Importantly, the R3 Wash delivers versatility, as its large 4° to 60° zoom range allows for everything from narrow, bright-beam looks to large-area washes.
“This fixture delivers a lot, with impressive lighting effects,” said Patrick. “Its pan and tilt are fast, the dimming is smooth, and at just 7kg, it’s also lightweight.”
Not only does the renovated space look amazing, but it also offers more than other premium venues, and, as such, it’s going to benefit the club financially as well as be a long-term investment.
