After seventeen years in the industry, Andy Maher reflected on his life and decided it was time for a change of scenery.
“It was time for a change,” he admitted. “I needed to do something to challenge myself, get my brain moving again by doing something new.”
Andy confesses that he has always admired the product inventory that Show Technology distributes, even with a bit of envy at times. Given that he also knows several of our staff members, admires their work ethic, and gets along well with them, Andy did not hesitate to take on the position of Technical Sales at Show Technology.
“I hope I can contribute further to the amazing work that Show Technology has already achieved in our industry,” comments Andy. “I’m really looking forward to being part of the team, and I aim to bring enthusiasm and experience to the table. Obviously, given some of the brands I’ve represented, I’ve got a very strong theatre background. But prior to that, we had the whole shebang, from rock and roll to festival work and into the performing arts. Hopefully, I have a fairly broad range of lighting-related skills to bring.”
Show Technology’s Chief Commercial Officer, Paul Nicolaou, comments, “We’re super excited to welcome Andy to the team. His extensive knowledge and years of industry experience will enable us to support and engage with our client base more effectively than ever before.”
It is not only the wide range of gear that Andy is looking forward to acquainting himself with. Andy is well-known in numerous circles of the industry, so he will be a familiar face to many; however, he is also looking forward to meeting new people.
“Andy is highly respected throughout the industry and has an impressive reputation,” added Angelo Ruggeri, Show Technology’s Business Manager. “I’m sure he will be a great asset to our team.”
Andy has a keen interest in the performing arts and you can often see him at musicals, ballet or opera – as a punter! He is always curious about what people are doing with lighting gear, saying that for him, it’s not just a line on a spreadsheet.
