Since the inaugural Ministry of Sound Testament event in 2021, VLA Productions has proudly served as its lead production supplier for the Sydney shows. This partnership builds on years of collaboration with Ministry of Sound Australia and Soapbox Agency, delivering high-impact audio, lighting, vision and staging for their flagship events.
Ministry of Sound Testament 2026 marked the latest evolution of MOS’s iconic warehouse touring series, celebrating the golden age of clubbing with the best of 90s and 00s dance culture. The lineup included standout sets from Booka Shade, Danny Tenaglia, Riva Starr, Altern8, Crookers and local legends such as Tim McGee, Goodwill and Illya Cooper, plus many more.
White Bay Power Station in Rozelle, Sydney, came alive across three distinct stages: the Boiler House delivering wall-to-wall club anthems, the Turbine Hall diving into electro, fidget and blog house, and the Engine Room keeping things timeless with classic house.
VLA supplied all the lighting, audio, video, staging and laser production, plus DJ backline and staging, to bring the music to life across all three stages.
As the venue’s largest space, the Boiler House main stage gave VLA an ideal platform to showcase its new Ayrton Rivale Profiles as the primary fixtures, extending the lighting design into the expansive area above the stage. Combining performance, creative flexibility, subtlety and power, the Rivale is a highly versatile fixture.
“We deployed 16 Ayrton Rivale units as the primary workhorse fixtures on the main structure,” commented Keith Eisenhuth, Director of VLA. “Their output was exceptional across the board — punchy beams, rich colour mixing, crisp gobos and the signature infinite pan/tilt movement that allowed us to create wide, sweeping looks as well as tight, energetic effects. These fixtures formed the backbone of the room’s visual identity.”
VLA brought the production to life on the dance floor with 32 ShowPRO DiamondBack all-round LED bars, including 16 built directly into the main structure and stacked end to end to frame the large LED wall with a strong architectural border.
The remaining 16 units were distributed along the room’s trusses, adding depth, movement and dynamic chases that tied the entire space together.
“The DiamondBack is a distinctive special effects fixture, and we’ve discovered that it is suited to a wide range of applications,” said Keith. “Its 3°–56° zoom range is outstanding, and it can create an impressive variety of looks. Even in simple modes, it adds strong visual impact to an event. We’re continually finding unique ways to use it, and it has proven to be highly reliable.”
These two fixture types were the heart of the lighting package, producing the dynamic looks and room‑filling energy that defined the overall visual experience.
In the Turbine Hall, the 90s and 2000s came alive through a large disco ball centrepiece, and VLA’s new ShowPRO DreamPix Strip IP65 fixtures added another layer of pixel-driven visuals, serving as high-impact accents around selected trusses and stage structures to create clean lines, visual framing and rhythmic effects.
“We wanted a lightweight, easy-to-rig, IP-rated fixture that could deliver clean, linear looks and support outdoor use,” said Keith. “The pixel-mapping capability also gives us greater creative flexibility, and our clients and punters all loved them.”
The night was further enhanced with Aryton Perseo, ShowPRO Duet Blinders, Claypaky Sharpy Plus, ShowPRO Fresnels, and ShowPRO Fusion Pars for outdoor site lighting.
