The future is looking very bright for MPH Australia who actually had their busiest month ever in March this year! When they secured many of the Splendour in the Grass sideshows, including Gorillaz, Liam Gallagher, Duke Dumont, YungBlud and Glass Animals, they knew that investment in new gear was paramount.

“These gigs prompted us to purchase a lot of new gear and it was nice to be in the position where we could justify that,” commented Matt Hansen, Managing Director of MPH. “We bought heaps of Ayrton Boras and Eurus as well as a couple of MA Lighting MA3 consoles.”

Matt says that MPH has never really had a Wash/Beam fixture in their inventory and he wanted to rectify that with an LED-based fixture.

“We were seeing a lot of specs for overseas acts that listed Ayrton Boras and so we ended up purchasing them!” he said. “It’s a compact fixture with gobo projection and framing functionality to produce aerial effects. Bora’s speed, effects, colour and light output are fantastic … the quality of light coming out of the Bora and especially impressed me. It also has a massive zoom range so just a few can cover an arena stage.”

Matt also added Ayrton Eurus Profiles to the hire department saying their output is awesome plus their size and weight is great.

“They filled a hole in our inventory and just to be able to have that quantity is great,” added Matt. “Again, they are LED and a brand that are well and truly on spec as far as anything out of Europe. I can see them being such a workhorse this summer. “We’re extremely happy with both of the Ayrton fixtures.”

Another plus for Matt was that Show Technology could deliver the products in a timely fashion – something not all distributors can do at the moment.

“Another selling point was that several hire companies around Melbourne stock Ayrton so if we need to sub hire more units there’ll be no problem,” added Matt.
Also market driven was Matt’s purchase of an MA Lighting grandMA3 full size and a grandMA3 light.

“Again, this was partially a rider-driven decision,” commented Matt. “Naturally, as a hire company, it’s important to keep abreast of the latest technologies and so we looked at grandMA3 as a necessity. MA Lighting products are extremely reliable, well designed and built.”

MPH’s Ayrton fixtures are currently out with The Hilltop Hoods on their The Show Business tour.
