Entertainment Venues, a division of Tamworth Regional Council, comprises three venues: Tamworth Regional Entertainment Conference Centre, Capitol Theatre and Town Hall.

Over the past few years, they have gotten more and more ShowPRO Pluto 350 moving head spots and now they have seventeen Pluto 350 in the Capitol Theatre: twelve Pluto 350 in the overheads on stage, three from FOH and two from the perch bars.

“We started with six fixtures to give them a good run and they were great so we then added another six, which was even better!” said Robert Elsworthy, Venues Technical Supervisor. “We then couldn’t help ourselves and now we have 22 x Pluto 350s with five at FOH in the Town Hall.”

Robert adds that the venues house incandescent fixtures and he was keen to match them.

“The Pluto 350 can match the colour temperatures of the other profiles and fresnels which is great,” he commented. “They simply work well for our venues. I like the strength of them over the 5 – 6 metre throw distance from the trim height, they cut through the haze and make an impact. The colours are not gaudy, and I also like the number of gobos they deliver.

“The Pluto 350s are quiet which is very important in a theatre environment. Of equal importance was the price factor. There were a lot of other lights on the market in that price range but in comparison, they were rubbish.”

Robert reports that, over the years, they have had no issues at all with their Pluto 350s and that if they had, he knew Show Technology would deliver great service.

“You need a company that will look after and support you,” he added. “Show Technology is always there for you.”

Also in the rig at the Capitol Theatre are twelve Martin MH6 wash and twelve ShowPRO LED PAR Quad-18.

Plans are underway to replace the Martin MH6 fixtures with ShowPRO Pluto wash lights in the future.
