Since AABPS has long included Ayrton fixtures in their rental inventory, they quickly chose Ayrton again when searching for a new Profile fixture.
“The Rivale Profile is the latest iteration in the Ayrton family, sharing a similar feature set,” explained Jez Nolan, Director of AABPS. “The decision to go down that path was fairly easy.”
Rivale Profile, designed for both indoor and outdoor use, offers a unique visual style that sets it apart in the market.
Jez said AABPS has a strong focus on IP ratings when selecting fixtures for their equipment range.
“It’s an important detail for us,” he confirmed. “Also, having a similar gobo set to the Perseo makes them integrate well with each other. The matching of colours across the entire family of fixtures allows us to easily mix and match, and we’ll probably look at Ayrton’s smaller offerings shortly, just to deal with our smaller gigs.”
The Rivale Profile features an advanced progressive CMY colour-mixing system with updated components, an expanded progressive CTO, a progressive CRI wheel, and a seven-position colour wheel. This setup enables accurate colour temperature adjustment between 2700 K and 6500 K, providing a broad and versatile range of colours.
Jez says that framing shutters are essential these days and are frequently requested by lighting designers.
“The accurate shutter blade positioning makes the Rivale Profile a very versatile light,” he commented. “The zoom range allows for a narrow beam without needing a beam light. With a 15-blade iris, glass gobos, an animation wheel, rotating prisms, and frost filters, we can achieve a wide range of versatile effects.”
Jez adds that the Rivale Profile’s weight was a pleasant detail, as it is 10 kg lighter than the Perseo. Weighing only 30.8 kg, this product sets new benchmarks for performance and features, with capabilities unmatched in its category.
Since AABPS received their Ayrton Rivale Profiles, they have deployed them on concert tours, corporate events, and even the Formula One. Having had such great feedback with the Rivale, AABPS are already planning to double its inventory in the coming months.
