The White Fox After Hours room is a purpose-built podcast and content creation studio within the White Fox HQ in Rosebery. It is a dedicated space where the team can film podcasts, interviews and digital content in-house.
The room needed to function as a professional production studio while still feeling unmistakably “White Fox”; feminine, premium and ‘Instagrammable’. Through PMG’s integrated design and delivery approach, they brought together the interior design vision, technical requirements, and specialist suppliers early in the process to create a space where functionality and brand identity were seamlessly integrated.
The lighting brief needed to achieve two key objectives: to provide professional-quality illumination for filming and to serve as an intentional design feature within the space. Rather than concealing the technical equipment, PMG wanted to celebrate it by making the fixtures part of the interior aesthetic.
The lighting also needed to provide flattering illumination for people on camera, offer flexibility for different filming scenarios and complement the monochromatic pink palette throughout the studio. Through PMG’s integrated design process, they worked closely with lighting specialists to ensure the fixtures met the required technical performance while enhancing the space’s overall design intent.
“We reached out to our commercial lighting supplier – Novon – for suggestions on professional-grade set lighting fixtures suitable for a commercial content studio,” elaborated Alison Drager, Associate Designer at PMG. “They introduced us to Prolights, whose product range aligned closely with the requirements of the space.”
Prolights provided the performance required for a commercial content studio, with fixtures that could be customised to suit the design vision. The range gave PMG confidence that they could achieve both the technical requirements for filming and the aesthetic outcome they were aiming for.
The ten Prolights EclPanel TWCMini2x1 were selected as the primary lighting fixture to produce soft, even illumination ideal for on-camera content. Their versatility and quality of light allowed the space to achieve a professional studio standard while maintaining a comfortable and flattering environment for creators and guests.
The three Prolights EclFresnel Jr were selected as directional accent lights to add depth to the space. They were positioned to highlight the seating areas and enhance the presence of the creators and guests on camera.
“The lighting fixtures are highly visible within the studio, so rather than trying to conceal them, we incorporated them as part of the design language,” added Alison. “Powder coating the fixtures in the signature White Fox pink allowed them to integrate into the space and become a feature rather than a distraction. It reinforces the brand identity and creates a cohesive environment where every element feels intentionally considered.”
Alison reports that the lighting has performed exceptionally well both technically and aesthetically. The White Fox team have been extremely happy with the flexibility and quality of the lighting during filming, and visually it has become one of the features of the podcast studio.
