Perth’s Elite Lighting has recently made two significant investments through Show Technology, adding Martin MAC Aura XIP and Ayrton Mamba to their lighting inventory.

Elite’s Managing Director, Brock Preston, explained that the Martin MAC Aura XIP was a natural progression for them, replacing their ageing Martin Aura XB units that have served them exceptionally well over many years.

“We were looking to commit to a solid quantity of 50 units, and the MAC Aura XIP ticked every box,” commented Brock. “They’ve been a standout from day one. The IP rating gives us real confidence for outdoor work, and indoors, it means less worry about dust ingress and reduces maintenance over time. They’re a practical upgrade that makes sense operationally, not just on paper.”

Brock and his crew look forward to delving into the MAC Aura XIP’s radical aura filament effect and full-pixel control, with video mapping capabilities for the beam, aura, or both.

“The MAC Aura XIP is not just a workhorse wash light,” added Brock. “It will enable us to advance our creativity as it promises new and exciting eye candy looks that create captivating stage effects.”

For beam fixtures, Elite were searching for something with real presence for a variety of upcoming 2026 projects. Brock first saw the Ayrton Mamba in action last year at Prolight + Sound in Germany, and he immediately knew it was the fixture for him.

Mamba is the first laser-sourced IP65 fixture in Ayrton’s 6 Series, equipped with a laser source twice as powerful as that of Cobra and capable of delivering a multitude of breathtaking new psychedelic effects.

Brock was impressed by the Mamba’s high output, multi-functional versatility, optical systems and extensive prism combination capabilities.

“Anyone who’s witnessed these in the night sky knows how special they are,” he said. “The output is serious, the feature set is broad, and they open up a lot of creative opportunities. We’re genuinely excited to see what designers do with them.”

Elite had both fixtures deployed for Filipino PPOP boy group SB19, marking a major outdoor concert delivery at Red Hill Auditorium, a venue that presents unique constraints. Weight capacity limits, restricted access, and exposure to the elements mean there is little margin for error. Rather than forcing a standard solution, Elite focused on adapting the system to suit the venue and the designer’s intent.

Elite’s new MAC Aura XIPs were perfect for the venue’s strict weight capacity, and both fixtures ensured reliability with their IP ratings, whilst still delivering the lumens and creativity.

Fourteen MAC Aura XIP were flown along with 14 x Ayrton Rivale Profile, 14 Claypaky Axcor 300 Beam and 22 x ShowPRO Collider strobes. On the floor were eight Mambas, six x MAC Aura XIP and four Rivale Profile.

“A big thank you to Show Technology for their continued support across these purchases,” remarked Brock. “Beyond supplying the gear, their advice, honesty, and industry insight consistently add value, and that matters when making our long-term investment decisions.”
